'Taste of the highlands 2 day Hue to Hoi An tour

I just arrived in Hoi An after a two day trip with Linh from Hue Riders. Linh picked me up at my hotel in Hue and we drove through the mountains down the Ho Chi Minh trail, passed country villages and stopped at local places for coffee breaks and lunch. Linh was very kind and I felt safe and very well looked after the entire trip. The scenery was breath taking and I enjoyed every second of this trip. I would recommend everyone who has the time to do the 2day tour as it is really worth it. Thank you very much Linh for taking such good care of me and for being such a good and safe driver. I couldn't have wished for a better driver!

2 day custom Hue-DMZ tour

Hi guys! Just wanted to say a big thank for our 2 day tour that you took us on around the DMZ and back along HO CHI MIN trail. We had an excellent time, really enjoyed it, for me it was my favourite part of travelling so far, and we've been away for 2 months! Now I just have to buy a motorbike when I get home. Read more here on their blog!

Sapa to Hanoi - Northwest Loop

Brence and I are back in NZ now and I just wanted to drop you a line to say how utterly AWESOME our trip through the Northwest Loop with the Hue Riders was! Hung and Ty were fantastic, looked after us so well, and kept us laughing the whole way round. It was definitely a top highlight of our three weeks in Vietnam.

1 day Hue to Hoi An + 3 day Ho Chi Minh trail, Hoi An to Hoi An

My son told me when you go to Vietnam dad you have to take the bike tour from Hue to Hoi An via the Pass. We did and it was spectacular. Hieu and Tam picked my wife and I up at our hotel early in the morning and proceeded to load our cases and bags on their bikes. We just looked on in amazement as everything was fastened down. Then off we went through the Hue rush hour, dodging and weaving the traffic just happy we were passengers and not riding ourselves. We enjoyed the experience so much that after spending a night in Hoi An shopping we signed up for the 3 day/ 2 night trip to the Central Highlands and of course the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail. Words cannot adequately describe this trip you just have to do it. Imagine a mountain road where you can pull over for a break and no traffic passes for 15 minutes, well that's what its like. We stopped in Kham duc and Kon Tum overnight in great quality hotels eating out at local cafes and bars with the guys. They have been the perfect hosts and have given us some special memories we will talk about for a long time to come. It will be a sad day when we part tomorrow to continue our trip south.

2 day Hue to Hoi An 'Taste of the Highlands'

We booked a two day trip with Hue Riders after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. We did the 2 day/1 night trip from Hue to Hoi An. We weren't disappointed. Hieu was brilliant at making us feel very safe. He showed us the real Vietnam and the trip to the village in the mountain will stay with us forever. Seeing the delight on the childrens faces when we gave them sweets, paper and footballs was priceless. We loved the trip so much that when we arrived in Hoi An we booked a further day to travel the Hai Van pass. Spectacular!! Thanks Hieu for an unforgettable honeymoon trip!

1 day Hoi An to Hue + Hue in a day City tour

Our family of 2 A, 3C(G15,B13,G10) spent 2 incredible days with the Hue riders which turned out to be a highlight of our holiday and incredible experience. The night before our departure Hieu gave us a briefing of what to expect and answered our questions, as none of us had biked before, we were apprehensive but excited. 8.30am our 5 bikes and riders arrived and amazingly strapped our large cases on the bikes, fitted us with Hue riders caps and helmets- off we went at a pace that settled our nerves and gave us the confidence to relax and enjoy. En route Hoi Ann to Hue we stopped roughly every 30 minutes for touring , photos and leg stretching. We climbed Marble mountain, photos at China beach, viewed the wonderful Van Hai Pass, lunched and swam at Lang co beach and enjoyed the wonderful cool water of Elephant springs. We arrived at our hotel around 5.00pm hot and exhausted-but richer for the experience. We chose to have a rest day before our second tour of Hue and surrounds. It was a bit disappointing not having all our previous riders, but found our replacements just as pleasant. We were taken to some amazing sites along the perfume river, Monastery, tombs, covered bridge and the lovely lady at the rice museum. Again experiencing a day of Vietnamese sites in great company . We all enjoyed these two days and would recommend Hue riders for a true adventure.

2 day Hoi An to Hue 'Taste of the Highlands'

We spent two action packed days with the hue-riders. Their knowledge on Vietnam was great we learned loads about their history. The best part of the trip was defo going off the tourist track and experiencing real life vietnam. we visited a small minority village and got a great welcome from all the children. The view along the way were breath taking with every twist and turn we saw even nicer views. The accomadtion was excellent.. we even met a real life monkey!! The food was top class.. the best we had on our travels! we loved the rice paper!! There was five of us on the trip and no one had ever been on a bike before but we felt TOTALLY SAFE the entire time! The driver we had were SUCH A LAUGH.We had great time with them on the bikes and during the stop off All i can say is thank you to all our hue-riders Quy, Ty ,Tam .Limh and especially my rider Hieu for a great trip!!!

Quy, Without any doubt this 3-day tour of the DMZ and Central Highlands of Vietnam was the highlight of our trip to glorious Vietnam. I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive about 3 days on the back of a motorbike, but it sounded like one hell of an adventure!
Before this journey I had never been on the back of a motorbike! However, with luggage on the back it actually becomes quite a comfortable ride! The scenery, the people, the rain, the sun, the mountains, the meals we shared, and your genuinely fun personality made this 3 day ride one of the highlights of my life! (and I've been to a few places.....) I hope to see you again soon on my next visit to Hue!
I will certainly recommend you to my friends and anyone else who is seeking an amazing adventure!

Hue to Hoi An, Hue in a Day

Wow what a great way to see the countryside and get to all the sights. We are travelling as a family of 5 (kids 14, 13 and 7). We decided to do a day trip around Hue. Awesome day even though it was raining.
We felt very safe burning around the country!! Cruising through rice paddies and through some amazing villages! A great way to really get into the culture. Saw all the sights - in our own time, no waiting for others. Had a fabulous lunch as well. Decided after such a great experience to travel to Hoi An with them also. Children and bags - what a great way to go. Regular stops and some great photo opportunities. The Elephant water springs was the best stop ever! The kids had a great time jumping off the rocks and swimming in the cool rock pools. Very helpful too. Our hotel we wanted was all booked out, so they helped us find another.
Couldn't recommend them highly enough. Excellent and very trustworthy!!
Thanks Guys, Jo & Leo.

The worst possible thing you could do is to be offered this wonderful experience & reject it.
We all had an incredible time with these open, kind and trustworthy people.
Having travelled the world and seen alot these guys showed me the REAL VIETNAM.
The locals and landscape were a breath of fresh air. Now I would consider Vietnam the greatest country because of Hieu and his team.

Thank you so much for the amazing adventure across central Vietnam.
For me, this motorbike trip has been the highlight of my travels in Vietnam. For anyone comtemplating an adventure with Hung and Hue Riders, take the time to see Vietnam by motorbike...from Hue to Dalat...or customize your adventure with them. It is an understatement just to say it will be an adventure you will never forget.

Taste of the Highlands, Hue in a Day

First things first: Hieu is not trying to scam you or take your money, you are safe with him.
My name is Chris and I'm a 25 year old civil engineer from Canada. I just finished the Hue City Tour and the 2 day trip to Hoi An via the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Both were Amazing.
You will get the following if you decide to use Hieu:
SAFETY - His bike is in good shape and in 3 days i never once felt in danger.
SERVICE - Hieu cleaned my silverwear, buckled my helmut and stopped where ever I wanted.
FOOD - Hieu knows amazing local restaurants at dirt cheap prices, he picked my food for me for 3 days and I did not have a bad meal or spend more than 25,000 dong.
THE REAL VIETNAM - Doing the 2 day trip to Hoi An was one of my best travel experiences to date.
The country is beautiful and the best way to see it is from a motorcycle. The wind in your face and the ability to look around, Plus he will stip whenever you want for photos.
The minority groups you will see are real. The don't try to sell you anything - they just want to come and say hello. They are easily the friendliest people I have seen in my travels.
If you don't take the tour with Hieu you will not see the real Vietnam. For the price of a pair of nice pants you can have something you will never forget, Don't worry about the money. Just do it!! Thank you so much Hieu.

If you are reading this then you are a step closer to an amazing adventure to SEE, TASTE & EXPERIENCE the "Real Vietnam"!. My girlfriend and I met Hung and Hieu on a rainy afternoon on Hue. We were both a little apprehensive - we knew we wanted to really see Vietnam and all the country has to offer - but only had a reletively short time.
After chatting to Hung & Hieu we both had a good vibe and initially signed up to the Hue City Tour - by lunchtime in a great vietnamese restaurant (phuong Nam Cafe) with them both - we had already signed up to the 7 day / 6 night tour to Mui Ne. We could not wish to meet two kinder more hospitable gentleman - they looked after us as if we were family.
I am sitting writing this in Mui Ne after what I can only describe as an adventure of a lifetime! All of my initial disapointment of Hanoi were blown away as our tour began. We were lucky enough to see places, meet local people that you simply would not be able to in a bus or train! BURN YOUR BUS / TRAIN TICKET NOW !!!
These guys will safely take you around the most amazing places on a bike. You experience everything, the changing scenery, coffee plantations, rubber plantations, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, local village children waving frantically at you wanting to practice their few words of english! And the food!! Oh the food - amazing Vietnamese foood in simple local places. We shared breakfast, lunch and dinner with Hung and Hieu for 7 days, every meal a delight. so accommodating. Talking of accommodation, good, clean, simple hotels with ensuite bathrooms and hot water! Enjoying lunch and dinner with Hieu's family enroute was a highlight - trust me - you will never experience hospitality like a vietnamese family. Hung & Hieu - I cannot thank you enough my friends, the motorbike tour with Hue Riders has been unforgettable for us both. I only hope we can repay your care and hospitality sometime in the near future. Thank you, Nev

Definately the REAL Vietnam. Meeting Hieu and Hung was the best thing to happen to me my whole trip - SERIOUSLY!
Before we decided to take the plunge with them I wasn't understanding why everyone said Vietnam was the most beautiful country - now I understand and am in LOVE with Vietnam.
Over the past 7 days I have breezed through beautiful countryside, met local people, see minority tribes, climbed around amazing waterfalls and eaten the most delicious food. Before agreeing to go I was nervous about what the accommodation would be like (and everything else actually) but we were more than pleased - we've had the best 7 days ever.
Along the way you will also have the privaledge to learn first hand about Vietnam's history and culture and it's all fantastic.
PLEASE DON'T CHOOSE THE BUS OR THE TRAIN! They are boring and cramped and all you will see are tourists! Hieu is lovely and hilarious company too - very kind and trustworthy - he will really look after you and your luggage.
Thank you so much Hieu - without you I would never have seen Vietnam for real (or tasted, smelt, felt, etc, etc!)

Taste of the Highlands

There is no better way to see Vietnam, than on the back of a motorbike with Linh and Hung. We met the guys at the Phuong Nam Cafe and booked a one day trip around Hue. Unfortunatley we already had transport to Hoi An, but decided the Hue Day trip was that good that we would take the 2 day trip back from Hoi and to Hue. I would recommend this trip to everyone, the Ho Chi Minh Trail is amazing and its made even better travelling with Linh and Hung who take you to all the best pleaces to eat and drink, a truly Vietnamese experience! Taking this trip was the highlight of our time in Vietnam!

Hue to Hoi An

If you're looking for a stylish way to travel around Central Vietnam, hopping on a bike with Linh or Hung is definatley the way to go! The Hai Van pass through the mountains alone is enough to make the Hue - Hoi An journey worthwhile, an experience you'll never find on the open tour bus.
Plus, their recommendations for food and lodging are actually good value!

Hue in a Day

Really cool day with Tam and his friend around the city - we did so much! First we went to the Pagoda where he explained the history to us in great english! Second we went to the American Bunker where there is a great view of the perfume river and ate some local fruit! Third to the Emperors tomb (55000 entry) Forth another pagoda, then the four of us had lunch in a local restaurant and had local food which was lush! After lunch we went to the Citadel to take photos. The tour ended after going to the Countryside through rice fields and villages to the Japanese bridge where he explained the history with us and played football with the local kids.
Great day out - recommend to all ages!

Explore the DMZ, Hue in a Day

My husband and I met Quy at Phuong Nam Cafe and decided to do a day trip around Hue. The next day Linh and Quy met us and took is on the most fantastic motorbike ride of our lives!! We were so impressed we wanted another day with them. The DMZ was amazing and we would recommend it to everyone. Linh is a perfect driver and the two of them have made our trip to Hue the BEST EVER!
Thank you Linh & Quy.
We hope to keep in touch with you both - you have made our trip!

Southern Delights, Hue in a Day

I spent 9 days with Quy, one for the day tour, and then 8 down to Mui Ne. I was on a tight budget and planning to just take the bus but I am so glad he convinced me otherwise. It was an AMAZING trip.
The views are beautiful and Quy is really knowledgeable. He shared with me so much about Vietnam and about his own life and family. I feel like this was a really enriching experience plus it was incredibly fun! There is no other way to see this country and Quy is the best guide you can find I'm sure. He is also a really safe driver and a great singer :) Go for it! You won't regret it!

Taste of the Highlands

Such a brilliant way to see Vietnam!! It sure beats sitting on a bus.
Linh and Quy are very safe and experienced drivers and I would recommend them to anyone who would usually be completley scared of speeding through the open road on a motorbike (ME!)
The stops along the way were beautiful - we felt like we had them all to ourselves. Just do it, even if its just this once - we weren't sure at first but now we don't regret a thing. The scenery is far more beautiful when you have the wind blowing through your hair! So much fun, I will remember it forever.
Thanks Linh and Quy!

Hue to Hoi An

Quy is really great as well as his friend Tam! Coming from the airport, we were thinking about doing the Hue-Hoi An trip by train and bus. FORGET IT!! Doing it on the back of Quy's motorbike is far better, relaxed and nicer than by public transport. Although a bit more expensive, really worth the money! On the road a couple of rests and stops at nice places, especially the Elephant Springs. On top of this Quy drives really good, his motor is also very comfy so don't worry about that. To sum up: Highly recommended. Quy - thanks for the experience and the talks. You showed us how Vietnam and its people is!
Thanks, Mark (& Susan)

Jon from California, USA 16/08/08
Taste of the Highlands

Tam and Quy were great, seriously great guys and you can totally be yourselves with them. I was travelling with my girlfriend and whenever we wanted to stop to take photos, swim, look at cows etc ... they stopped. We also met some of the indigineous people on the road and they helped us greet them (translate)! These guys are cool, easy-going honest folks and you'll be very happy with them.

History, Hilltribes and the Ho Chi Minh Trail

Dear Travellers, If you have any doubts about this tour, hesitate no longer! If you want to see the real Vietnam and get away from the tourist life for a while, this is the trip to take! It has many elements in one, for the adventures, riding a motorcycle over the Ho Chi Minh route never gets boring. And at the same time you can relax in a natural spring or be amazed by the fantastic views. Hung's english is up to standard and his conversations are interesting! To everyone who takes this trip, Enjoy!

Hey Everyone! Don't think twice, just go!
We hesitated for a minute and only lost 60 seconds. We've been travelling for months and this tour is one of my favourites. Wish I had more time! The motorbike ride alone is worth it. Do it, its a must!
The sites are great, the drivers even better, thanks Hieu, your'e an awesome guy!

I have had a brilliant time.
I didn't know it until i met you but a trip in the mountains on your motorbike was just what I wanted to do. I have smiled the whole way, I would love to go further but unfortunatley I don't have time.
Hung is a great guide, he is knowledgeable and a safe rider.
If you read this and are not sure take a day trip with him. I have seen and experienced things that I would not have if i hadn't met Hung.
This is a definate highlight of my holiday and will be the part i remember most.
Thanks so much, Jenny

Hue to Hoi An

Believe everything you read from the people before me!!! From my own perspective as a woman travelling alone it was a very pleasant surprise to find such a good reliable driver and guide.
I felt safe the whole time (8 hrs on the back of a motorbike) and was able therefore to really enjoy the view as we travelled, 100x better than being in a bus. I never usually write recommendations but wholeheartedly recommend Tam.

Hue in a Day

We came to Hue to go on the Dragon Boat but were pursuaded to go with Tam on his Motorbike, WHAT A GREAT DAY! Tombs, Temples, Pagoda, covered bridge, museum and a great look at the countryside from the back of a bike. You can't get this from a bus or a boat. Take this Trip!!

Go with us and you will see, taste & experience the REAL Vietnam
